Be a part of the future of behavioral healthcare! Join our integrated healthcare team as a primary care Behavioral Health Director. Work as an integrated member of the medical care team to improve overall health outcomes for adult patients with developmental disabilities by providing efficient and effective behavioral health services. The goal is to detect and address a broad spectrum of behavioral health needs in the primary care patient population with the aim of early identification, quick resolution, long-term prevention, and wellness for as many patients as possible. Provide support the medical care team in working toward improving long term health outcomes, including but not limited to weight loss, smoking cessation, medication adherence, and diabetes management.
In addition to their standard BH Provider clinical duties, the BH Director provides clinical oversight of assigned BH Providers, as well as being part of the BH Leadership Team. This position will be divided as follows: 0.50 FTE Administrative/Leadership; 0.50 FTE Clinical Responsibilities. Works in conjunction with VPs of Behavioral Health and Clinical Operations, other BH Directors, BH Coordinator, assigned Health Center Medical and Clinical Operations Directors, and any other Peak Vista Department to support the integrated care model and the delivery of BH services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.
- Provides direct clinical support to assigned Behavioral Health Providers and their respective health centers.
- Contributes to the BH Leadership team with planning, developing, and implementing integrated BH care strategies and helping to provide BH training to improve clinical skill sets.
- Works closely with clinic leadership dyads to ensure appropriate behavioral health integration and exceptional care for patients.
- Lead team meetings and participate in other meetings as appropriate.
- Facilitate team and inter-disciplinary training as appropriate.
- Represents BH at various administrative and Peak Vista organizational leadership meetings as assigned
- Together with the BH Leadership team, helps the BH department meet all required administrative and clinical responsibilities (i.e. AAAHC inspections, BH scorecard data gathering, quarterly peer supervision)
- Assist with the recruitment and on-boarding of staff.
- Responsible for yearly contract evaluations, renewals, and professional goal setting for assigned BHPs
- Performs other administrative or leadership duties as assigned by VP, Behavioral Health
Suggested Competencies:
Effective written and oral communication skills
Working knowledge of various psychotherapeutic evidence-based interventions or treatments and knowledge of the common factors and “what works” in patient change
Demonstrates an understanding of the integrated health care model
Supervision and interdisciplinary team building skills
Demonstrates initiative and effective problem-solving skills
Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret relevant BH journals or other professional integrated care resources, edit integrated BH grant application narratives, and understand BI/financial reports. Ability to respond to common inquiries or concerns from patients, Peak Vista clinic staff, or regulatory agencies. Ability to write or co-author articles for publication.
Training & Experience:
Ideal candidate would have a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and adults.
Integrated Primary Care Behavioral Health and leadership experience preferred.
Required licensure: LCSW, LPC, Licensed Psychologist
Compensation (Pay): Range starts at $69,761.12 to $85,797.38/annually, based on license and experience. Plus a $12,000 Directorship Lift and a $10,000 Sign-On Bonus.
