Description
Clinical Social Worker is responsible for working alongside early childhood professionals in Child Development Centers throughout the Inland Empire to build the capacity of staff and families to address and/or prevent challenging behaviors and to foster social-emotional competencies. Apply trauma informed therapeutic theories to diagnose and treat mental and emotional disorders, sharing strategies, modeling evidence-based intervention approaches, facilitating referrals, and cultivating a deeper understanding of the factors that shape young children’s social-emotional development.
- Direct service treatment, including diagnostic (intakes), crisis intervention, and on-going treatment.
- Conducts observations and needs assessments for children, classrooms, and centers.
- Support for providers, parents, legal guardians, and caregivers to create trauma informed, proactive inclusive environments and to respond effectively to all children.
- Maintain case files that include intakes, activities, progress notes, evaluations, and recommendations.
- Aid to providers, parents, legal guardians, and caregivers, and encouragement and facilitation of collaboration and communication, in developing the skills and tools needed to be successful as they support the development and early learning of all children, including observing environments, facilitating the development of action plans, and supporting site implementation of those plans.
- Meetings or workshops with groups of parents to increase parents’ understanding of social emotional development and positive behavior guidance strategies.
- Developing and modeling of strategies for addressing prevalent child mental health concerns.
- Linking families with community resources and providing parent support and training as appropriate.
- Provide consultation, recommended approaches and education related to the mental health of the child.
- Providing prevention services to individual children.
- Follow up on results of counseling programs and clients’ adjustments to determine effectiveness of programs.
- Provide clinical supervision to Associate Therapists, Trainees, and Interns in accordance with BBS guidelines and agency policies. Support professional growth and ensure ethical, effective service delivery.
- Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant documentation in alignment with agency standards and billing requirements to maximize reimbursements and meet audit expectations.
- Punctual and regular attendance.
- Participates in meetings including but not limited to, All Staff Meetings, IEP, 504, SSTs and Parent/Teacher Meetings as requested.
- Any other task or duty as assigned or required.
Requirements
- Licensed at least 2 years, with ability to provide clinical supervision to associates, interns, and trainees.
- 3+ years’ experience in a community-based setting with diverse children ages 0-5 years old.
- Experience with providing services in an outpatient setting.
- Experience with child /group therapy.
- Experience with treating depression, anxiety, behavioral concerns, and trauma.
- Bilingual/Spanish speaking preferred.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively via e-mails.
- Ability to analyze and interpret information to plan appropriate treatments.
